Food Culture & Food Truck

Seeing food trucks in our favourite spots offers a tasty, affordable alternative to our daily routines. Not only do they provide delicious meals, but they also foster a strong sense of community, becoming an integral part of the food culture and building meaningful relationships between vendors and consumers. One of my clients approached me with a branding design project for her new food truck business. She shared a wonderful story with me about her grandfather, who owned an Opel Blitz built in 1965. She dreamed of renovating it, inspired by her uncle, who suggested transforming it into a food truck. This truck, originally used to transport food, holds many cherished stories from her grandfather's life. Hearing these stories deeply inspired me. Before she even asked, I created some illustrations to visualize her food truck idea, hoping to inspire and motivate her. It was a small gesture, but one made with great enthusiasm and encouragement. Food menus are like a canvas!

A food menu does more than display prices. it represents the business's nature and brand value. Unique food requires a unique menu to showcase it to the world. Food menus are like a canvas, and food illustration helps achieve that uniqueness and quality. I received this project from my previous employer, which required enhancing the brand value and showcasing the quality of the food. I developed a design concept and created sketches and illustrations based on this concept, adhering to the client's project timeline. This project was an amazing experience for me as it allowed me to research and study more about food and branding. Got food inspiration from Pick Up Limes!

Recently, I discovered an amazing YouTube channel focused on healthy food and living. It's called "Pick Up Limes," created by Sadia, who does an exceptional job. One day, while watching one of her videos, I found inspiration for my artwork. What I've created here is a blend of her ideas with my own touch, incorporating additional ingredients to enhance its beauty. I made food menu again!

I received this project from my previous employer, who had a newly opened hotel restaurant. The client wanted the food menus and other collateral designs to have a more professional and traditional approach. I researched various ideas and drew inspiration from them, eventually creating a sample menu design that the client approved.  For the final design, I used the etching technique, a traditional method for creating illustrations. I was very satisfied with the results and the overall quality of the illustrations.   Etching style food illustrations Finalised food menu I collaborated with my fellow designers and gathered ideas from them for the binding and cover design. We decided on a leather cover with spiral binding, which helped achieve a more traditional and professional look. The final result turned out beautifully, and the client was very pleased.

Vintage food illustration

Andruw recently commissioned another piece from me, this time for a vintage food illustration. This style differs from my usual food illustrations as it involves traditional colouring methods and techniques. I felt the need to experiment with this approach, so I discussed it with Andruw, and he agreed. The result turned out exceptionally well.
